My third graders are exploring intricate patterns, and learning about the element space in their landscape drawings. The students learned about foreground, middle ground, and background, and also, perspective. Stay tuned for the finished products...

On Sept. 11 at 1:45, Big Shanty Intermediate would like to invite all community and family members out to our blacktop for a small presentation to thank our local First Responders. Please feel free to join us in singing and speaking about how thankful we are for their hard work and dedication to our community.
Please remember that even though this is at the end of the day, Big Shanty will follow its normal dismissal procedures. During the first two weeks of school, the students created hand prints as a getting-to-know-me activity. Through this project, I was able to learn a lot about each of my students. I learned their favorite colors, sports, games, activities, I learned their drawing abilities, design skills, their fine-motor skills (like tracing and cutting), and so much more. This turned out to be a success! |
AuthorI am the art teacher at Big Shanty Intermediate School. I have been teaching art for 13 years, and have taught all grade levels, K-12. I have two daughters, both attend school at Palmer. I love to paint, and I specialize in portraiture, abstract art, cityscapes, and flower paintings. I am so excited about this 2016-2017 school year! Archives
