The 4th graders have been learning about the artist Wassily Kandinsky, and how he painted art with pure designs and colors that represented music. Kandinsky was an artist and a musician, and he often thought of his paintings as symphonies, melodies, and improvisations. The students also were introduced to a current art movement in Atlanta called Living Walls ATL. This is a non-profit group that paints murals all over the city to inspire the community. After learning about Kandinsky and Living Walls ATL the students painted group murals while listening to music. We strengthened our art class "community" while painting together.
