The fourth graders are learning about complementary colors, painting with tempera paint, and painting lines that express movement. They painted while listening to strings music. Each song was unique, therefore the paintings varied according to what each student heard. Their paintings look like the music sounded. Now that they have two paintings that contrast in color, they are cutting them into strips and weaving them together to create a one-of-a-kind composition.
